IF we win tonight
We will be one point behind Everton, Who a lot on here said they most wonderful manager and have acted in the transfer window how we should have.

We will be one point behind Arsenal

3 points behind Liverpool, Everyone practically begged to suck off their manager after last weeks win against Arsenal.

So we have had a shit start. But it isn't the end of the world.

We know we can do better, we could ask for best owners, we could ask for the best manager, we cold ask for the best players. But we are West Ham and that's not what we are all about.

All i ask for is the players play as if one of us would if we got a chance to, albeit with their skill and not ours.

Remember that it starts on the terraces and we will be there long after everyone on the pitch and in the directors box, so let's get behind the team tonight and show them what being West Ham is all about.

2 1 west ham tongiht

I like that even with a spirit of ridiculous optimism and bravado you still only dare to dream of a 2-1 victory.

The performance is as important is the result. An unconvincing or lucky 1-0 will do nothing to help anyone's confidence or give anyone certainty going forward.

What we really need is something decisive either way. To be honest the longer we stumble along mixing bad defeats with the odd fortunate or close win does nothing to help anyone.

A strong win and Bilic will be able to build and have confidence going forward- a weak performance and a resounding loss will give the board the opportunity to act on the situation.

It will be 2-1 tonight, but not to us.

Re: IF we win tonight
But you're right- those of us who are going need to make ourselves heard and get right behind the players on the pitch while the game is on. We need to get them through any shaky moments with positive noise rather than booing.

In return though, they need to muster up something for us to make some noise about. It goes both ways. Too often last season we gave them a decent atmosphere to start off with, and they let us down with abject performances.

Leicester in particular springs to mind.

WHEN, we win tonight it will herald our gradual climb back to our proper level.

EL Scorch,

I agree with you, the players have to perform.

However we can help with that. When they make a mistake, it isn't groans and booing but get behind them.

Only for 90 mins.

If we do our bit and they play shit then get right on their backs at the end.

However let's believe in them for those 90 mins and give them a chance

If we win tonight?

With Ayew and Noble?

With 6 defensive players on the field?

With Bilic's instructions to defend in numbers and not cross the halfway line until the hour is up?

With Chicha up front on his own as a target man?

Re: IF we win tonight
My concern is that we are playing a newly promoted side who have never been in the Premier league and I expect them to be fitter, better organised and work harder.
They also appear to have a more tactically aware manager, a nicer chairman and fans that are 100% behind the team.

I am still hopeful we can win but will not be surprised in the slightest if we are well beaten.
Which is very concerning

One win is not going to change peoples mind that Bilic needs to be sacked, last season was terrible, the start to this one even worse.

What happens if we don't win tonight?

Can't believe I'm having to repeat this again but, It's not just about the first 3 games of this season. We have been dire for over a fucking year.
The club needs to be a regular top 8 side asap, let's see how the next few games pan out but most of us have already seen more than enough to conclude that Billc is not the man.

Re: IF we win tonight
We need to forget Bilic, Forget the board, forget the formation.

I was at Spurs last year, they had just won 9 on the bounce, then after us won another 3 and were playing beautiful football.

We were 8-1 at the bookies to win i think that night.

we had a weakened team due to injuries, but do you know what, the atmosphere was superb, which we can't do in this new stadium apparently, the team were great. the crowd were amazing from before the game it was like a cauldron in there.

We can make a difference.

All i am asking is for 90 mins to forget the negative and whatever it is like, just get behind the team.

Gph, Bayreuth we should beat them.

Re: IF we win tonight
We're not playing Spurs though.

The team only seem to be motivated for Spurs and Chelsea home and any crunch games when relegation threatens.
That results in lower mid table finishes, not good enough.

Have Arsenal had points deducted then, or are the FA going to help us out with 5pts for the win. Other than that, some good points.

Absolutely- I said that we need to be only positive, and we'll start positive as we do with every match. BUT realistically an abject performance is going to illicit a change of mood with most in the stadium whether it's productive or not.

If the defending is farcical, the movement going forward non existent and the simple passes can't find their man, then those basic abject errors like we saw almost all last season are going to suck the noise and positivety out of the crowd.

This is why I said its important the players do their bit. I'm not saying we should turn on them if they are shit, but people will start to groan audibly after umpteen misplaced passes or poor bits of defending, It's just human nature.
